IPL - Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Pulsed light is absorbed by melanin (a coloured pigment) present in hair during the growth stage and is then conducted down to the root of the hair. This light is turned into heat, and it is the heat that destroys the follicle and the root without side effects.

What can I expect for results?

People receiving Pulsed Light treatment show at least an 80% success rate for hair not growing back. Clinical research conducted over a number of years and in a number of countries confirm its high level of effectiveness.

Who is is for, and what body parts can be can be treated?

Pulse Light hair removal can be carried out on all healthy skin, light or dark, on both men and women, on all parts of the body. However you should try not to expose the treated areas to the sun before or after each session. The absence of melanin in the hair prevents transfer of heat which is the reason for lack of results with white hairs, and why extra sessions are needed to treat fair hairs.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the nature and type of skin, skin pigmentation, age and gender. Most area's require 8-12 treatments spaced apart according to the area being treated and it's growth cycle.

How much does it cost?

The price is reasonable because it is long lasting so the cost covers a much greater period of time than traditional techniques (waxing, shaving, depilatory cream, tweezers, etc). Moreover Pulsed Light hair removal is much less costly than other permanent techniques. Our costs vary to each part of the body and how many appointments needed to effectively remove the hair
